This weekend the Boise state Broncos will try to hold onto their winning season as they travel to San Diego State (SDCCU Stadium). The two teams will kick off around 7:30 PM (MST), which is just in time for me to get home and watch the ass kicking go down.
The Boise State Broncos have had a decent start to the season with wins over Troy, New Mexico, and BYU. With the two teams defeating them being Virginia and Washington State.
Brett Rypien will be throwing most of the football for the Broncos. Rypien and Montell Cozart usually split the ball although Rypien gets a lot more attempts. Brett Rypien has completed 56 of 92 attempts (61%) for 646 yards. Cozart has completed 38 out of 60 attempts for 433 yards (63%). Combined they have both thrown for 7 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
The #19 ranked San Diego State will be trying to continue with their perfect season this Saturday. The Aztecs have an explosive offense led by QB Christian Chapman (7 TDs, 1 Int.). He has completed 80 passes over 127 attempts (63%).
Rashaad Penny (Senior) is ranked 2nd in the NCAA with 993 rushing yards.
Chapman and Penny both have over 1,961 yards together. This San Diego State team is the real deal.
I have watched a couple of Boise State games this year and have not been impressed to say the least. Boise state is notorious for turning the ball over and the Aztecs will be running a 3-3-5 defense on Saturday. This will create a lot of pressure for the Boise State offensive line, which will lead to several picks for Rypien.
Expect a lot of turnovers from Boise State and 3rd and long situations. Going for 10-2-1 ATS for my 13th Max play this season. San Diego State (-7).
